Worm v1.0 Release Notes
==========================
(c) 1994-98 Andrew Castles

Worm is a simple game written for MS-DOS which is not
graphically stunning but is very addictive.

Installation
============
Simple, just run the worm.exe file when you have extracted
it from the ZIP archive. If you extract worm.exe to your
Window or Dos directory (or any directory which is in your
path) you will be able to access it quickly by just typing
'worm' at the dos prompt or using Start|Run in Windows 95
or Program Manager's File|Run in Windows 3.x.

Worm Keys
=========
On the main screen press:
  1 to start a new game
  2 to change game level and turn sound on and off
  0 to quit Worm (until the next time!)
  D to start Demo mode

Keys for playing worm after starting a game are as follows:
  q to make the Worm start going up
  a to make the Worm start going down
  o to make the Worm start going left
  p to make the Worm start going right
  [ to start Autopilot mode (press any key to resume normal play)
  w to make Worm wait while you get some refreshment
  h to ask Worm to halt so that can get some sleep

Objective
=========
The objective of Worm is to make the Worm as long as possible
by eating the numbers which appear on the screen. When Worm
starts moving you can't stop him, only change the direction in
which he is going. Direct him towards the number on the screen
and when he eats it his tail will grow by size of the number he
just ate.

If Worm eats himself he will die and trying to each the each of
the screen is not healthy for him either and will also result
in a horrible death.

High Score
==========
If you manage to get the highest score without cheating (using
Autopilot mode during the game) then you will be asked for your
name so that others will know who the champion of that level is.

Your name will appear along with your high score on the main
screen for a short while before the hungry Worm eats it up and
the score for the next level is displayed.

Saving
======
Your high scores, level selection and sound preference are saved
in the directory which you started Worm from. If this file does
not exist when Worm starts then it will be created when you quit.
